Max’s 3rd Birthday Party – Peter Pan & Captain Hook Party

I am becoming a pro at planning birthday parties in 10 days or less! I wanted to do a Peter Pan/Captain Hook theme since Max had recently been enjoying the dvd Return to Neverland so much.  I couldn’t find anything easy for the theme.  Of course, I had to pick something complicated!  I found a few things through the Disney website and Oriental Trading so it all worked out really nicely.  Max had a great time so I’d say that = success!

Hmmmm, a snapshot of Max at 3 years old-

Fav Food- Hot dogs,  pizza, grilled cheese, Funyuns, watermelon

Fav Person- Me, of course! ;P Daddy,  And Papaw & Gran.  He calls Papaw & Gran’s house “home”.  (“Let’s go home!” he’ll say.)

Fav Friends- Reagan, Emmy, Roston, Brycen, & Dylan

Enjoys- being outside, visiting the zoo, climbing, jumping on the trampoline, painting, driving the 4 wheeler at Gran & Papaw’s

Fav Tv Shows- Mickey Mouse, Jake & the Neverland Pirates, Strawberry Shortcake, Sophia the First

Fav Words – “Poop”, “Stinky Breath”, “Stop it dude!”

Sweet things-  saying “I wuv you, mom.”, nose kisses, playing with my hair, when he wants me to carry him he says, “I kill you” (I carry you), he will say, “It’s me, Maxie!” (like we don’t know who he is!)

Development- Working on Potty Training (about there), talking a lot (you can understand about half of it), learning to communicate well through words, learning to recognize some letters, knows most shapes/colors; He gets into a lot of trouble, but seems to have more better days now.

He is as sweet as he is rotten.  He has stretched me and really made me think about who I want to be as a mom.  I love him ALWAYS.  My baby boy “Maxie”.

April Showers of Blessings continued… and Max’s 3rd birthday!

A selfie by Rea-  She has really got into texting lately.  She texts the same few people all the time with a picture or herself.  It usually says “I love you.  To U.”  She just asked me the other day if she was old enough to have her own phone.  She justified the need with educational reasoning- she has to spell to text, right?

The girls first baseball game of the season at the brand new White Bridge Field.  This was the first game ever played on the county’s new baseball field.  “History in the making!”  With Daniel helping coach, my full-time position at the games is to keep Maxie Man under control.

We planted some flowers.  We had great expectations on this day, but I sadly report now that nothing grew.  I’m not sure where we went wrong, but we are creating a game plan for another round of planting flowers….

I consigned and shopped at the Duck Duck Goose Consignment Event in Knoxville.  I would have actually profited from the event had I  not tacked on this horse (now named Ginger) to my bill.  Oh well, it is hard to find this toy and the kids really wanted her.  She is pretty cool if I do say so myself.

I took a Saturday off to have some time with the kids for Max’s birthday.  I RARELY have a free Saturday so I wanted to do something really special.  I loaded the kids up and took them to the Knoxville Zoo by myself!  Crazy?  For sure!  They were soooo very good for me.  It was a wonderful time with them.  One to go down in the books.

Week 17, Emmy’s 4th Birthday

These pictures are from 11/26/12 to 12/2/12 .

With my work, Thanksgiving, Christmas, the girls’ birthdays, two weeks of the FLU in our house, and everything else we had going on, you can imagine the chaos that was taking place around this time.  I decided to slow our home school activities (start our Christmas break early) so we could not go completely crazy.

On Emmy’s birthday, the elves had decorated accordingly!  Unfortunately, I came down with the flu just in time for her birthday.  I was the sickest that I can remember being in a very long time.  I wanted to just re-schedule the party, but who could rain on Emmy’s Hello Kitty parade!?!  Not me.  I pulled myself together the best I could and made it happen!  That’s a mom for ya!

I just thought that Sponge Bob balloon at Food City was expensive.  This one, however, was worth every penny.

Here’s a video of Max trying to get the star off the top of our Christmas tree.  He would get a running start and stop and jump as high as he could like was actually going to reach the star.  He said, “OH MAN!” like was disappointed he didn’t reach it.  I got him to do it again for video, thankfully.  It was pretty funny to watch.  He would say, “Get dat star back!”  Reagan just watched him and cackled!  She then followed to say that our family is so funny that people would probably like to watch us on tv.

Happy 1st Birthday Dixie!

After we lost our two weimaraners Gracie and Shelby, we decided that it would be the perfect time to get the kids a new weim pup for Christmas.  I found a breeder in Kentucky so we went up after the pups were ready to pick our girl out!  Here’s the litter that we picked from.  I’m not even sure which one is actually her because they looked so much alike!

IMG_0183

Our girl!  We left her behind to have some more time with her mom Joelean and littermates.

IMG_0178

Daniel drove up just a few days before Christmas after he got off work to pick her up.  When he got home with her it was early in the morning.  We didn’t want to have to try to hide her so we just got the kids out of bed to open their big surprise present.  They were quite tickled!  (Turn blog music off on right sidebar before playing video.)

1st time holding Dixie-

After the excitement died down, the kids went back to bed for a while.  Dixie settled right in with them.

IMG_0437 IMG_0436

Here’s lots of pictures from her 1st year.  She is a beautiful girl.  She is well-behaved for her age and good with the kids.  We adore her.

IMG_0452 IMG_0475 IMG_0476

This particular night, Reagan sang Dixie to sleep because she thought she might be missing her mommy.IMG_0517
