February Fun

Well, I kicked off the month of February with a horrible, horrible virus.  I was so sick.  Yuck.  I had no one to help me with the kids on one of the days I felt so bad.  I literally stayed in bed the entire day.  They helped take care of each other and me, too.  It was really very sweet and impressive at the same time.  Here they are “toasting” popsicles.

Emmy painted Max’s nails.  He wasn’t too happy with the job, but hey, it kept him occupied.

This weekly visit to the animal shelter wasn’t our normal visit…

because we met this little guy!  I knew when I saw him that we had to rescue him.24

I mean, look at that sweet face!  We speculated he was part weimaraner and either pit bull OR boxer.  Not sure, but either way- he was so sweet.  I asked the shelter to hold him for me while I made arrangements to get him to our home!26

We did not have a name for him right off.  The girls came up with some doozies.  We went over a day without a name, but finally settled on “Tucker”.  We were able to re-home our last rescue pup “Maggie” to a good home during this process so it all worked out wonderfully.34

….January days continued…

An afternoon nap for Emmy and Max might feel wonderful at the time, but they will rise and keep you up all hours of the night.  Beware.

Reading eggs time for Reagan.  I have absolutely loved this online reading program.  I have started Emmy on it this semester, too.  They enjoy it so much.

Finally, a snow day!!  Barely enough snow to do any serious playing, but still enough to make a mini snow man. 🙂

Trying out her telescope that she got for Christmas.  She looked at a “Bee Wing” and then drew a picture of it.

We made our own “chunk” chart.

January days…

As we were walking out the door to go to Gran’s for dinner, Emmy grabbed her umbrella and said, “Mom, I hope it’s raining outside!”

jan04

Our weekly trip to animal shelter- Emmy brought some milk bones from home…

When I asked Emmy about what she did to her Bible, she replied, “But Mom, I like it that way!”

Here I am with my babies stuck like glue-

Where do animals go in the winter?

jan17

Em’s new Brave wig from Gran-

jan18

I got to volunteer in Reagan’s Magic Schoolbus class at Thursday Connection.  They studied bats and then did an echo location activity.  It was really neat to see the kids pretending like they were bats and using the echo location method to find their food.

jan19

Emmy and Reagan enjoyed lunch together in the cafeteria at TC.  Emmy was excited to have brought her lunch.

jan20

Rea’s art work from her TC Art Class with Miss Margaret- “Indian Sunset”

One last trip for 2012 to Dollywood was in order.  It was the most crowded there that I have ever witnessed.  We only had a few hours to enjoy there before our dinner show at The Dixie Stampede.  The kids LOVED the DS show.

IMG_1882

Reagan thought this nutcracker was pretty neat since she had just learned about nutcrackers in her art class a couple days before.

Max does this thing on my bed (usually at bedtime) where he acts like a ninja.  We jokingly call him Ninja Max.

He had some marshmallow creme on his face.  I thought this was a cute clip of him trying to get it off.  He could see himself while I was videoing.
